The lack of vineyards is no obstacle at all for a fascinating wine experience!
Small and charming wine shops, exquisite restaurants with excellent wine lists and pairing menus are popping up in Sofia. Bulgarian wines are getting definitely better known abroad thanks to their higher quiality! From traditional pub (mehana) with draft wine to a wine bar and a top class gourmet restaruants offering limited series of wines – all tastes will be satisfied in Sofia!
I am keen on small, family wineries, off the beaten track, with individual touch and much passion in the bottle. These wines are definitely not to be found in the supermarket! And that’s what I personally am going to present you! As a WSET Level 3 Award in Wines Certified and a licensed tour guide I am focused on providing a knowledgable wine tour in order to make you familiar with the millenial old history of our wine culture and the trends in the modern Bulgarian wine-making.
The Sofia Wine Experiences offers you a 2-3 hours walking wine tour in the central part of Sofia, including visits of boutique wine shops (2 or 3), tastings of distinguished local wines (6-9 samples of mostly indigenous varieties, paired with bread, water and/or local appetizers). The price starts from EUR 29,- p. P. for a group of 4 people but I am flexible and could organize a tour for 1 or 2 persons or bigger groups.
