We wanted a wine tour at short notice from Sofia. We arranged Ivaylo through the wine shop Vino Orenda. He was very responsive and put together an itinerary of wineries and cultural attractions in the Melnik region, close to the border with Greece. He picked us up at a convenient location (gave us a small welcome gift which was very kind), and he had arranged all appointments. We had a fun time and learnt a lot about Bulgarian wine (and wine-making in general). Ivaylo was a great guide – friendly, trustworthy, great English, a safe driver, and flexibility in catering for our needs. Most importantly he knew his stuff – both on wine tasting but also on Bulgarian history and society. Even if you were not a wine enthusiast, he would still make a great tour guide. He is highly recommended and we intend to use him in future.
